Yesterday I downloaded to my Mac a Tetris-like game called Sosume. I'd forgotten what fun I used to have with this game many years ago in the pre-Mac OS X days. There are many variants of this falling tile game, but Sosume seems to be the best, and it's free.

It was a fantastic tv series and I'm glad they made the Serenity movie for those die-hard fans (like me). Well, for some fans that just wasn't enough. It seems that Firefly was never meant to end. This particular space frontier will live-on in an MMO thanks to the people at Multiverse.
Personally, I'm a bit sceptical about this venture as I'm not an online game player, and never had an interest in role playing. My own life can be difficult to manage as it is.
Friday I went on a huge spending spree. Games console, memory cards, operating system... just a few from a very long list.
I bought my own PS2 console... and just had to buy a game or two. After my poor performance with StarWars Battlefields I bought the Lego StarWars game. Now this turned out to be one of the best games I've ever bought. Designed for ages 3 and over it's full of fun, lots of adventure and amazing graphics.
My mate Tony has lent me his PS2 console while I'm on leave. Last night I had a session on it with my work colleague Steve. Yesterday I'd bought Star Wars Battlefront, which I'm having trouble figuring out. I really should read the book. So we progressed on to GT4 and had a few hours of fun on that, trying out various tracks and cars in arcade mode.
Later we tried our skills at International Pool Championship. We just used the simple 8-Ball game but made it interesting playing best of three. The loser dropping his pants. I lost.
Usually Good Friday is a low key affair but this year I invited Tony to Beauty Point to see the start of the Three Peaks Yacht Race. It was a rather colourful spinnaker start.
Saturday Tony ventured over to my place and brought over his PS2 to try out on my plasma screen. And it was freakin' wonderful! Played Gran Turismo 4 .... and spent most of the time over correcting the steering so we ended up more off the track than on it. So we set off for the nearest Harvey Norman store and bought ourselves a Logitech Wheel controller each. Then we were in PlayStation bliss.
Later we watched Bourne Supremacy. It's one of a few movies that deserves to have a sequel.
Sunday (today) is was back to work unfortunately. However, I do have 2 weeks off at the end of this week. I feel another Hobart trip coming on.
